What are your tips for finding vintage thrift clothing online?

Finding good vintage thrift clothing online can be quite the challenge, especially if you’re aiming for that edgy monochrome look. With so many different platforms and sellers, how do you ensure you’re getting quality pieces without overspending?

Many have dabbled in various thrift websites and apps, only to find that some listings can be misleading. A great-looking item can sometimes turn up, and it’s far from what you expected. Are there specific sites you trust or strategies you use to curate a stylish and budget-friendly wardrobe? How do you judge the quality of an item based solely on photos? I’m eager to hear your experiences and tips!

I usually stick to Etsy and Depop for vintage finds; they have a lot of unique stuff. To judge quality, I look for sellers with plenty of good reviews and ask for extra photos if needed. Also, don’t forget to check measurements! Sometimes that Monochrome piece looks great but is way off in size.

I’ve found that even with photos, you gotta look for those close-ups of fabric and tags to gauge quality. Sometimes all you get is a poorly lit shot, and that can be a huge red flag. And don’t sleep on smaller, niche sites—sometimes they have gems that the bigger platforms miss.
