Are lace-up shoes still in style for 2026?

With fashion trends constantly changing, it’s hard to determine whether lace-up shoes remain a classic choice or if they’re fading in popularity. I’ve noticed that while sneakers and slip-ons are dominating the streets of New York, lace-ups still carry an elegance that’s tough to overlook. They can really elevate a basic outfit, but are they still the best option for a polished look?

For me, finding the right fit and quality in lace-up shoes is essential. Yet, it seems like many brands are moving away from timeless designs in favor of more casual options. Have any of you found brands that still focus on style and comfort for lace-ups? What styles are you leaning towards this year?

I’ve been into lace-ups this year, especially Oxfords, they add a nice touch to almost any outfit. I found some great ones from this emerging brand called Knot & Lace—super comfy and stylish. I think as long as you pick a good design, they’ll always have a place in fashion.

I’ve actually found a couple of brands that still do lace-ups really well. J.M. Weston and Allen Edmonds make some solid options that balance style and comfort. I’ve been leaning towards more classic designs lately—they just seem to elevate any outfit, you know?
