Are designer bags still a smart investment?

With so many stylish and affordable bag options available, it raises an interesting question: is it still worth investing in designer bags? Some of my friends are passionate about their luxury handbags, insisting that they last longer and elevate any outfit. On the other hand, many believe you can find strikingly similar designs for much less.

For those who own designer bags, how do you perceive their longevity and value? Do you think they maintain their worth over time, or would you suggest focusing on budget-friendly brands that offer great quality? Are there particular designer bags that you feel justify the splurge, or do you prefer to mix high-end pieces with more economical options? I’m eager to hear your perspectives!

I hear you, but honestly, I’ve had some budget bags that held up just as well as a designer one. Like, I picked up a cute faux leather bag last year, and it looks brand new! Sometimes, it feels like the brand name doesn’t justify that price tag, especially when you can find similar styles for a fraction.

I think it really depends on the bag. I’ve got a couple of designer pieces that have held up great over the years, but I also mix in some affordable ones that look just as good. If it’s something classic like a Chanel flap, I can see the investment, but I wouldn’t drop big bucks on every trend.
